Caroline's Rainbow Foundation

Caroline's Rainbow Foundation is a registered UK charity working to raise awareness of the importance of safe travel to young people, whether they are going abroad for independent travel, gap year placements, organised tours or simply thinking about visiting a different country.

Caroline's Rainbow Foundation was established after the tragic death of Caroline Stuttle in 2002 in Bundaberg Australia whilst travelling on her gap year.

Aimed at young travellers, CRF works with the education sector, The Foreign Office and other organisations, trusts and charities to provide easily accessible and helpful information about safe travel. In particular the charity provides information about personal safety abroad and encourages young people to recognise and prioritise life’s values wherever they may be in the world.

  • Travel Safety Awareness - App for iPhone and Android

Our aim is to be the number one source for travel safety information around the world.

    iphone-apps

In 2012 we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary, to keep up with the busy lives of travellers we are creating a Travel Safety Awareness App for iPhone and Android hand held devices. The App will be free to download and use.

The Travel Safety Awareness App will offer specific travel and safety information for destinations around the globe. Giving travel safety tips, information about the city, useful phone numbers and website links that travellers might need, local events in the area, maps and currency exchange rates. The App will also have a GPS locator so travellers movements can be tracked and location known in case of emergencies. The App will be an extension of the "Global Guide" on our website, traveller generated information  and tips regarding safety and travel advice.

Most people take mobile phones with them where ever they go, now users will be able to access relevant travel safety information and links anywhere in the world.

  • Get Involved with Caroline's Rainbow Foundation to make the world a safer place for Travellers.

We are planning to expand our Global Guide as part of this years project. Our aim is to make access to the Guide as user-friendly as possible; with useful information to enable travellers to explore the world in a safer environment. We believe that by being informed people can have safer travelling experiences.

This year we are marking the 10th anniversary of the charity by creating an App that will be free for people to download to their hand-held device. The App will offer specific information for destinations, safety tips, maps and useful phone numbers that travellers might need.  It will be an extension of the "Global Guide" on our website which contains traveller generated information regarding safety and travel advice.

If you have been travelling on a gap year or holiday and would like to share your stories and experiences, places you really enjoyed and the places you didn't., please let us know.  Any safety information or tips you think might help other travellers stay safe or have a more enjoyable experience would be welcomed.   By sharing your stories and tips we can make the world a safer place for everyone to explore.

If you would like to help research a country/city by filling in our travel safety document or sending us your travel safety tips and recommendations to add to our Global Guide, please send us an email. Our aim is to become the most comprehensive and accurate guide to personal and travel safety information on the internet.
