With our wealth of experience in Gap Yearing and being parents of Gappers we have put together the Mind The Gap Year Top Ten Tips to help you to plan your trip and to help parents assist.

Money in mind when abroad


	When travelling keep your money on your person not in your hand luggage.
	Split your money in to different pockets and keep precious items in your money belt.
	Check at hostels and hotels if they have a safe at reception or in your room for money and passport.
	Be careful who you trust in charge of your belongings, if travelling with friends keep an eye on each others bags.
	Take only what money you think you will need for the day, keep an extra note in another pocket just in case.
	Watch the bank charges if withdrawing from cash points abroad and always be discrete when entering your pin.
	Inform your bank when you are leaving the country and how long you will be away for so they don't block your card and cause problems.
	If possible take two different cash cards so you always have something to fall back on in case of emergencies.
