Marjorie visits Australia

Six years after Caroline was murdered in Bundaberg, her mother Marjorie, also Chairperson of CRF, felt strong enough to visit the site of Caroline's tragic death with the support of her husband David. During the two day visit to Bundaberg Marjorie and David met the new Mayor, Lorraine Pyefinch, and the previous mayor, Kay McDuff, who was in office at the time of Caroline’s death.

Lorraine Pyefinch presented Marjorie with a memorial fund cheque raised by the local community for the charity. Dave Batt, the police detective who worked on the case for two years, took Marjorie and David to the bridge where Caroline had her final thoughts and to see the memorial tree set in lovely gardens in Bundaberg. Marjorie and David were struck by how much the people of Bundaberg had been affected by Caroline's death and were so impressed by everyone's kindness and consideration to them during their visit.
