About Caroline's Rainbow Foundation |

  Caroline's Rainbow Foundation is a registered charity in the UK which sets out to raise the awareness of the importance of personal safety amongst young travellers, gap year students and backpackers by recognising and prioritising life’s values.
We work alongside the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, the Education sector, the Foreign office and other organisations to share this message. Together we offer direction and information to support young travellers.
Marjorie Marks-Stuttle, her son Richard Stuttle, and husband David Marks established Caroline's Rainbow Foundation after the tragic death of her daughter Caroline Stuttle in 2002 in Bundaberg, Australia whilst backpacking in her gap year.
Our message is aimed at young travellers. The charity's interactive film "Time of Your Life" encourages young people to learn some basic safety awareness - the do's and don'ts whilst travelling.
Caroline's brother Richard after struggling to come to terms with his sisters tragic death and the subsequent trial in Australia, which he attended, is now finding some peace with his art. A FABULOUS EVENING OF FASHION AT THE GRANGE HOTEL,YORK
The Grange Hotel on Bootham in York hosted an evening of Fashion recently featuring clothes from Browns of York along with beauty treatments and lots of fun. Current Miss York Helen Jackson was present at the event supporting the charity. We would like to thank all who helped make the event a huge success.

Steve Jack recently ran the Stockholm marathon to raise funds for us. He commented "Well I made it round the wonderfully scenic 42.1 kilometre course that constitutes the Stockholm Marathon..at a price, it has to be said ... both to me in terms of blisters and exhaustion ( it was 28 degrees on the day - hardly ideal running weather)". We would like to say a big thank you to Steve and well done!! |

Marjorie visits Australia |

Six years after Caroline was murdered in Bundaberg, Marjorie felt strong enough to visit the site of Caroline's tragic death with the support of her husband David and Megan Hunt from the Foreign Office. During the two day visit to Bundaberg Marjorie and David met the new Mayor Lorraine Pyefinch and the ex Mayor of eight years Kay MacDuff. The new Mayor presented a memorial fund cheque raised by the local community for the charity. Dave Batt , the police detective who worked on the case for two years drove Marjorie and David to the bridge and to see the memorial tree set in lovely gardens in Bundaberg. Marjorie and David were struck by how much the people of Bundaberg had been affected by Caroline's death and were so impressed by everyone's kindness and consideration to them during their visit.
